Science 9 Year Long:  Today we wrote the Electricity Test.  You have no work to complete over your holiday - have a good one!

Chemistry 11:  Today we did the Moles Unit Test.  Nothing is due over the holiday - please leave your Chem books in your locker:).

Chemistry 12:  Today we finished the solubility lab, and we learned about solubility product.  We started U3 # 40-44, but nothing is due on Monday.  Have a terrific Spring Break.

Science 9 (P56):  We did Lab 5A (Burning Candle Lab).  No work is due over the holiday - be safe and have fun.

Chemistry 12:  Unit 3 # 21, 22 and 20 (e-h).  WS on Precipitation Reactions.  We did some lab work to help us determine the concentration of Copper II Sulphate in our saturated solutions.  There was an associated worksheet that we will complete on Friday.

Chemistry 11:  Today we did the Moles Practice Test and the first day's work in Lab 6A.  On Friday we will do our Moles unit test and the remainder of Lab 6A.

Science 9 (P56):  Finish the Density Calculations for Friday.  Read section 5.2 about Physical and Chemical properties and write brief notes on State, Lustre, mp and bp, malleability, ductility, conduction, solubility and density.  Do pg 164 # 4,5,8,9 in quality point form.

Science 9 (Year long): Today we did the electricity practice test.  On Friday there will be a test on Electricity (Chap 9, 10, 11).  Have your practice test completed for Friday.

Chemistry 11:  U5 # 78-82, 87, 88, 62-64.  Moles Test on Friday.

Science 9 (P56):  pg 156 # 2-4, 7-11 due Wednesday.  Today we wrote a test on Ch 3 & 4, and we played with sodium and potassium metal.

Chemistry 12:  Unit 3 # 18-20d due Thursday.  Today we made a saturated solution of CuSO4.   Next day we will try to find the concentration of the solution that is in equilibrium with the solid.  How can we do that?

Science 9 (year long):  pg 344 # 1-7,9,10, where you are asked to show your math statements and report answers with the correct units  [Some answers for you:  #2.  .635A;  #3.  120 000 000 J;  #4.  800W;   #5.  12.41 V;  #6.  .27A].  Ohms Law WS (not due, but would make some terrific exam prep for your Electricity Unit Test on Friday).

Chemistry 12:  Today we wrote the Equilibrium Unit Test (Unit 2) and I collected Lab 19B.

Chemistry 11:  I collected lab 4D today.  We made a standard solution using a volumetric flask and due tomorrow is a mini lab report with the following sections: Title, purpose, materials (actually list these), procedure (actually write the steps involved in making a standard solution), data .  We finished with a quiz on U5 # 59, 61 that was assigned on Friday.

Science 9:  Test on Chapter 3 & 4 tomorrow.  Have your practice test done and ready to hand in.  Today we started pg 156 # 2-4, 7-11, but it is not due until Wed.

Chemistry 12:  On Monday we have a Unit II (Equilibrium) Test, and Lab 19B is due too.

Chemistry 11:  Unit 5 # 59, 61 is due Monday.  Lab 4D is due Monday too (all questions, follow up questions, and a conclusion).  Moles test on Thursday, March 17th.

Science 9 (P56):  Test on Monday on Chapter's 3 and 4.  Have your practice test done and ready to hand in.  Today I collected the Karyotyping Lab.

Science 9 Year Long:  pg 325 # 2-7.  Include a schematic with each problem.   Today we made measurements that allowed for the calculation of our climbing  power.  You guys have a lot of power.

Science 9 (P56):  Read section 4.7 and write brief notes on all 6 types of Human Reproductive Technologies.  Finish the Karyotyping activity for Friday too - have at least one of a normal and abnormal Karyotype completed, as well as the Lab Hand-out filled in.  Expect a Cell Bio and Reproduction test on Monday (Chapter 3 and 4 mostly, but a bit of 2 as well).

Chemistry 12:  Due Friday is the Practice Test.  We also worked on Lab 19B, which is due Monday.  There is a test on Monday, on Unit 2 (Equilibrium).

Chemistry 11:  Lab 4D will be due on Monday.  Today I collected Unit 5 # 46 and 38 from Tuesday, but I need it from several of you still.  We learned how to find the Molecular Formula from the Empirical Formula, and Unit 5 # 47-49 are due Friday.

Science 9 (P56):  Today we marked pg 121 and handed it in.  We did course selections for Grade 10 for most of the class, so no work is due next class.

Chemistry 12:  Unit 2 # 55, 56, 57.  Lab 19B is due next Monday, on the same day as your Unit 2 test.  Make sure you have tried all the "ICE" table equilibrium problems assigned over the last week:  47-54, 61.

Chemistry 11:  U5 # 46 a,c,e,f, h, k, j. and # 38.   Today I collected Lab 4B and the WS titled "Putting it all Together" .

Science 9 (Year-long): Due Thursday is pg 325 # 2-7 (include a neatly drawn schematic with each problem, and show your math steps when using Ohms Law).  Also, have your adult sign your interim, and bring it back to me.  I collected pg 319 today, and I still need it from these students:  315, 750, 331, 889.

Chemistry 12:  Lab 19B will be due on Monday, (Questions 1-5, FUQ #1, and a conclusion.)  Make sure you are up to date with your Unit 2 problems - so far we have done # 47-54, 58, 61.

Science 9 (P56):  pg 121 # 2-8, 11-15, 19 in point form.  I still need some pg 116s from you.

Chemistry 11:  Unit 5 # 24 and 44, 45 (any 3).  Lab 4B is due Tuesday.

 
Friday, March 4th

Science 9 (year long):  Today we read 10.4 on Ohm's Law.  Due Monday is pg 319  # 1-10.

Science 9 (P56):  We did lab 3B (Seeds) today, as well as a Human Reproductive Anatomy Quiz.  Questions a-g are due Monday.

Chemistry 11:  WS:  Putting it all together due Monday.  Lab 4B due Tuesday.

Chemistry 12:  Unit 2 # 52, 53, 54, 58, 61 due Monday.



Thursday, March 3rd

Science 9 (year long):  Today we marked the Resistor colour code WS and handed it in.  We did a mini lab on Resistors in series and parallel, which was handed in before you left.  No homework due Friday.

Science 9 (P56):  We went over pg 111.  We read section 4.2 and did pg 116 # 1-7, 9, 11, 14 in sentences which is due Friday.  We also learned about gender determination and did a Karyotype cut and paste, which is not due Friday.

Chemistry 11:  Today I collected U5 # 15, 21, 22 [any 20 problems].  We did Lab 4B, which is not due Friday.

Chemistry 12:  Today I  collected # 36-46 (not #43) and 32 - 34.  We did U2 # 47-51, prepared lab .

Science 9 (P56):  Label the Male side of the Human Reproductive Anatomy.  Technical terms only, please:)  Do pg 111 # 1-9, 11-13 in fine sentences, except labelling problems.
Science 9 (Year Long):  Today I collected pg 314 # 1,3,6-10 and a few of you promised this to me tomorrow.  Today we learned about resistors, and you were asked to leave your resistor measurement activity with me at the end of class.  Due next day is the Resistor colour code WS.

Chemistry 11:  today we did the Unit 1 test.  Due Tuesday are the problems from the Moles Unit that we have been working on since Thursday:  Unit 5 # 6-9 (any 20 problems) and all of 11 and 12.

Chemistry 12: U5 # 18-28 evens.

Science 9 (P56):  Read section 3.5 and write brief notes on the 5 methods of Reproductive Technology in your reading.  Today I collected your signed interim; bring it to me tomorrow if it is not yet signed.
