Science 9:  Today we measured the resistance of resistors, then we measured them and found the percent difference.  In the second half, we did the Ohms's Law WS.  Both are due for Friday.  Pg 314 # 1,4-11 is also due Friday.

Science 9:  Due Wednesday is pg 314 # 1, 4-11 in point form, as well as the Resistor Color Code WS #2.

Chemistry 12: Work on your Electrolysis Mini Review, Take home final, and maybe 21C if it has not yet been handed in.

Monday, June 13, 2022

Chemistry 12:  After completing the mini-review of Titrations and Electrochemical Cells, we took notes on Electrolytic Cells.  We watched this clip to learn about plating,  and we watched this clip to learn about Aluminum Smelting.   Time was given to read pg 243 - 246.  Due Wednesday is the Review of Electrolytic Cells WS.  Click here to see the key to the first take home final.  When you are done, I will give you a second practice final.

Science 9:  We went over pg 310 to begin with , then we did a lab on finding Voltage with cells that are connected in series and in parallel.  In the last part we learned how to determine the resistance of a resistor using the color codes.  Your Final Exam will be one week from Thursday, its time to do a little review every night in order to remember all that we learned from the winter.

Friday, June 10, 2022

Chemistry 12:  Today we took notes on Electrolytic Cells, and we completed Unit 5 # 65 - 68 (due Monday).  Due Tuesday is your Lab 21C.   Please finish working through your Take-Home Final, so we can assess it move on to the 2nd.  Final Exam is Wednesday, June 22nd.

Science 9:  I collected pg 310 today after we went through the responses.  After a short one act play titled "Current in a Circuit". we read section 10.2 and completed pg 310 # 1-11 in quality point form.  I would like to acknowledge Lia, Sam, Charles, and Evan's electrifying performances as electrons.  Liam D and Natalia really shone in their roles as LED's.  This is due next class.  In the final minutes, we discussed electricity generation, and watched this short clip that explains a coal-thermal electrical generating plant.  Your final exam will be on Thursday, June 23rd.

Chemistry 12:  We did Lab 21C today.  Complete all the Questions and Calculations, Follow-up Questions 1-4, and a fine Conclusion.   Aim to complete your Take Home Final by Monday, so that you have time to do another practice final.  Your Final Exam is on Wednesday, June 22nd.

Tuesday, June 7, 2022

Science 9:  Today we used multimeters to measure the voltages of batteries and cells, to see if they are "dead" or not,  Even a small reduction in Voltage will mean that the amount of current available from a source will not be enough to run your device.  We spent more time on our Electronics Booklet too.  Nothing is due for Thursday.

Chemistry 12:  Prepare Lab 21C for Wednesday am.  We spent the class reviewing Unit 1, Rates of Reaction.  Please ensure that you are spending time preparing for your final exams.

Monday, June 6, 2022

Chemistry 12:  After a short review key terms from the previous units, we  learned about Corrosion.  Read section 5.12 and do # 60-63, as well as one balancing problem from #24.

Science 9:  After completing notes on Current Electricity, we worked on the Electronic Booklet.  No work is due on Tuesday, and you will be given more time for the electronics booklet.

Friday, June 3rd

Chemistry 12:  Today started with a mini review of Electrochemical Cells, then we took notes on Selecting the Preferred Reaction.  Unit 5 # 47, as well Lab 21D is due Monday.

Science 9:  Today we took notes on Static Electricity, and we read section 9.2.  Due Monday is pg 281 # 1,2,4,9,10 and pg 278 # 7,8,10, 14 all in quality point form.  Sketches are useful to explain topics in electricity.

Thursday, June 2nd:

Science 9:  Today we had a terrific field trip to the Greeley Water Treatment facility, then to the Waste Water Treatment facility.  Nothing is due on Friday.

Wednesday, June 1st

Chemistry 12:  Today we started with a mini review of Standard Cell Potential, then we completed Lab 21D.  For the lab, we will do all the Questions (except 2c & 3c), Follow-up Questions, and a Conclusion.
