Monday, September 26th

Science 8:  Today we completed a placemat about Elements and the Periodic Table of Elements.  We watched this clip about Gold.  In the second half, we observed samples of  15 elements and wrote down their names, chemical symbols, and physical properties.  Due next day are pages 265 # 1-3 and 271 # 1-5.

Chemistry 11:  We spent the day on naming atoms, ions, elements, and ionic compounds.  Due on Tuesday is Unit 4 # 1-3 and any 20 total problems from # 4 and 5.  I collected Lab 2D today as well.

Chemistry 12:  We started Unit 2 today.  After playing around with Bromothymol Blue equilibrium, we wrote some brief notes and read sections 2.1 and 2.2.  We started Unit 2 # 1-13, but this is not due Tuesday.  The Rates of Reaction Practice test is due Tuesday, and the Rates Test is on Thursday.  Click here to see the key for the practice test, and here to see the key for the optional mechanisms exercises.
