Science 8:  We took brief notes on Volcanos, then we finished watching the "Volcano!" documentary.  We categorized the rocks by their family (igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic). We drew a rock cycle to show how they change from one family to another through heating, melting, weathering, erosion, deposition, compactions etc).

Science 9:  We wrote brief notes on Power, and measured the lifting power of a powerful human (30 to 40 Watts range).  Nice work!  After reading pages 340 - 343, we did page 344 # 1-6 and 11.  Ensure that 1-6 are done for Monday, as well as page 319 (#1-9) from Wed/Thurs.

Thursday, April 30

Science 8Page 508 # 2-13 was handed in first.  We learned about the origins of the oceans and continents.  How did they get there?  We read pages 402 to 409 in our textbook, then we completed page 413 # 1-12 in sentences.  We watched National Geographic "Volcano!", about Maurice and Katia Kraft.

Science 9:  After marking the Ohms Law WS we read about Ohms Law in the Probe 9 Textbook (pages 315 to 318). In the BC Science 9 book pages 236 and 237 explains it too.  We did page 319 (in the Probe 9) # 1-8.  In the second half we started our next unit by reviewing cell anatomy and function by completing this WS and stating key functions for each organelle on the back.  Lastly, we completed an Ohms Law Quiz.
