Science 9:   First we reviewed safety procedures and equipment, then we drew a map of the classroom, hallway, and exit route for a fire drill.  We labelled all the safety equipment, as well as the nearest firt extinguisher and firepull outside the room.  We then observed some elements and compounds and recorded their properties.  We learned how to measure volume to the nearest one-tenth of the smallest division and completed the Volume WS.  In the last few minutes we read pages 88-90 and completed page 95 # 1-3 in point form.  Also, on Friday I would like to check your supplies: calculator, pens/pencils, calculator, ruler, paper, 20 sheet of graph paper, textbook. 

Science 8:   First we reviewed safety procedures and equipment, then we drew a map of the classroom, hallway, and exit route for a fire drill.  We labelled all the safety equipment, as well as the nearest fire extinguisher and fire-pull outside the room.   We then began learning about the Kinetic Molecular theory , using this animation to help us visualize atoms and molecules.  In the second half of class we completed the Volume WS to help us learn how to measure like scientists.   Finally, we read pages 246-249 and completed page 249 # 1-5 in sentences.  All this is due for Friday.  Also, on Friday I would like to check your supplies: calculator, pens/pencils, calculator, ruler, paper, textbook.
