Science 8:  We did a practice Eye Quiz today, then we made a placemat with spaces to write brief notes on Microscopes, Telescopes, Binoculars, and Cameras.   We read pages 216-223, and for each application we sketched the device, showed the lenses and mirrors, drew a ray path, and showed the observer and object.  In the last minutes we did Activity 5-4 on page 177 (this can easily be accompished at home).  All that is due is a Ray Diagram, showing how the penny becomes visible.

Science 10:  After going through the Galaxy WS answers, we did Activity 14B from a hand-out (Constellations).  No work is due on Tuesday, but everyone is asked to bring a ruler

Chemistry 11:  We went through the Titrations WS, then did a short review on Stoichoimetry.  Time was provided to finish Lab 20C and Unit 7 # 33-35.  In the final portion of class we reviewed atomic structure.  Due next class is Lab 20C.

Science 9:  We started off by learning about scientific notation, a way of showing very large and very small numbers.  We did this WS to practice converting between regular numerical form and Scientific Notation. We added a little to our Atmosphere Notes, then we watched this clip about the changing CO2 levels through one calendar year.  This CO2 Activity uses various math a measuring skills to help students understand the Carbon Dioxide found in the air.  If you are not at school, use the largest room in your home to complete this assignment

Thursday, April 25th

Science 8:  We went over page 197 # 1-10 first, then we read about human vision (page 202 to 206).  Pg 205 # 1-5 was completed in fine sentences, then we did Activity 6-2 (all "What To Do" questions in quality point form). In the second half everyone made a pendulum and made measurements to find its frequency.  We performed an inquiry to figure out how the frequency could be changed. Everyone wrote a lab report with the following sections:  Question, Hypothesis, Procedure, Data, Calculations.  This lab is not due on Friday, only page 205 is due.

Science 9:  We started by reviewing the 4 spheres that are used to understand the movement of thermal energy and materials around the planet.  We read pages 284 - 288, and we added definitions for the 4 sppheres on our placemat from April
