Chemistry 11:  Intro Unit Test on Monday.  The practice test will be collected before we start.  Today we spent time on our new unit, the Mole.  U5 # 6-9 [any 20 problems total] and 11 and 12 were assigned but will not be due until Tuesday.

Chemistry 12:  Unit 2 # 17-27 [odds] and 16.

Science 9:  pg 92 # 1-3, 6-12 in fine sentences.  Today I sent home interims that need to be signed and returned to school on Monday.

Chemistry 11:  Lab 2D (questions and conclusion) are due on friday.  The intro unit Practice Test is also due Friday.  U5# 6,7 (any 8 total) is not due Friday.

D)    Discussion:  Sentence and paragraph format; maximum 2 sentence summary of the procedure; discussion of the procedure indicating an understanding of the principles involved in the lab; address the objectives in the Purpose section; suggest improvements in the procedure where applicable; concise and fluff free;  avoid the use of I/we/us etc

Chemistry 12:  No homework for tonight.  Today we wrote the Rates of Reaction Unit Test.

Science 9(P56):  Today we learned about Methods of Sexual Reproduction found among plants, animals, and microorganisms.  You were asked to make brief notes and few sketches on Conjugation, Hermaphrodites, and Dioecious creatures.  You will be given time to finish your flippit on Wednesday.

Chemistry 11:  Today I collected Lab 2E.  We did lab 2D today, but nothing is due Thursday.  Expect an Intro Unit test Friday or Monday.

Science 9 (Year-long):   Today we finished the lab on Measuring Voltage with batteries in Series and Parallel.  You will be given time for pg 314 tomorrow.

Chemistry 12:  Today I collected Lab 18C.  Due Monday is U1# 54-61.  You will be given some time for the Ch 1 Pr. Test on Monday.  Expect a Chapter 1 Test on Tuesday.

Chemistry 11: Lab 2E due on Tuesday, so spend some time on the Calculations and Follow-up Questions so that you can get help with them on Monday, if you need to.  We will go over how to write a conclusion on Monday.  Expect a unit 1 test next week.  Maybe on the double block day.

Science 9 (P56):  Test on Monday on Chapter 2.  We spend a fair bit of time today discussing exam prep strategies.  The Practice Test is due Monday.  We started 3.1, but it is not due and you will be given more time on Monday.

Science 9 (Year-long):  No homework.  Today we did a quiz on pg 309 so if you were away today, be ready to show me your completed pg 309 #1-3 and 7-12 so I can omit the quiz.

Chemistry 11:  Unit 4 # 8 and 9, and any 16 problems from #14-163.  Also, write the list of 10 acids onto your data booklet somewhere, so you can access them when needed.  Today I collected Lab 3A and U4 # 1-5 (some practice, but not necessarily all) and 6,7 (all).  Bring this to me tomorrow if it is not done yet.  You are quite near the end of the unit, so expect an Intro unit Test next week.

Chemistry 12:  Unt 1 # 46-52 was done today, but I will give you a little more time on Thursday.  Lab 18C is due Thursday, without a conclusion.

Science 9:  Due tomorrow is the WS on Asexual Reproduction.  Today I collected page 52.  Expect a Ch 2 test on Monday.

Science 9  (Year Long):  pg 309 # 1-3, 7-12 due next class.  We worked on the Electricity booklet but this is not yet due.

Chemistry 11:  Unit 4 # 1-5 (get enough practice) and all of 6 and 7. Lab 3A (questions # 1,4 and Follow-up Questions 2,3) are due Tuesday too.  No conclusion for this lab.

Chemistry 12:  Unit 1 # 29-39 (not #33) and 41 - 45.  Lab 18C is due Thursday, without a conclusion.

Science 9 (P56):  Cancer placemat.  Read section 2.5.  do pg 52 # 1,3,5-8, 10-15, 17

Chemistry 12:  Today we learned about Kinetic energy distributions.  Due Monday is Unit 1 # 29-39 (skip #33).  We are working on Lab 18C as well.  You will get some class time for this, and I will explain my conclusion requirements on Monday.

Science 9 (P65).  Today I collected pg 47 # 1-5, 8-12, 16 from last class and the Cell Division Cut and Paste.  Bring these to me Monday if I don't yet have them.

Chemistry 11:  Today I collected the density lab, we did a safety quiz and Lab 3A, which is due (except a conclusion) on Tuesday. You have nearly finished the intro unit, so expect a test at the end of next week.

Science 9 (P56):  Today we took notes on Cell Division.  We finished pg 47 # 1-5, 8-12, 16 and the Cell Division Cut and Paste, both of which are due tomorrow.  You will be given time for pg 52 tomorrow.

Science 9 Yearlong:  Today we took notes on Electrical Current.  We also built a simple circuit and measured the current, trying to determine the effect on the Current of adding a second battery.  We finished off by completing the Electricity booklets, which are not yet due.  I still need pg 281 # 1-7, 9, 10 from several of you.

Chemistry 11:  Read Section 3.3 and do Unit 3 # 33-44.  Finish the Density Calculations for Friday.  We will have a Safety Quiz on Friday.

Chemistry 12:  Today was about Enthalpy.  Read Section 1.6 and do # 24-28.  We did Lab 18A today, which will be due next Thursday at the start of class.

Science 9 (P56):  pg 47 #1-5 due Thursday.  We will do the rest of pg 47 on Thursday.  Today we marked pg 41.  I still need pg 38 from a few of you.

Chemistry 11:   Unit 2 # 56-58.

Science 9 Year Long: I need pg 281 (from February 1st) from several of you.  Today we learned about Current electricity, and that battery orientation does not matter when powering up an incandescent lamp.  We started the Electricity booklet, but this is not due.

Science 9 (P56):  Label the Microscope parts WS and write care and handling instructions on the back.  Sketch plant and animal cells and size the length and width of the plant cells at least.  Sketch and label the 8 WHMIS symbols onto your map/safety rules sheet, and be ready for a safety quiz on Tuesday.  Read section 2.2 and do pg 41 # 2-12, 15,17 in fine sentences, except for the labelling exercises.   Today I collected pg 38 from Tuesday.

Science 9 (year long):  Lab 9B including analysis a-e and g in sentences.  Read 9.5 and make a sketch to explain how each application of Static Electricity works.  [Lightning, Laser Printer, Fabric Softener, and Electrostatic Precipitator.]  Today I collected pg 281 # 1-7, 9, 10.

Chemistry 11:  Read 1.1 to 1.6 and complete the map as described.  Sketch and label the 8 WHMIS symbols on the back or bottom of the map sheet.  Read 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3.  Do # 1-3,5,13-15.  We started measurement today, and did U2 # 48, 49, 50 (just making the measurements)

Semester 2!

Chemistry 11:  WS:  States of Matter and the Kinetic Molecular Theory due Tuesday.  We read Section 1.1 in Hebdon and did the map as directed, but this is not yet due.  Have your outline signed by Tuesday and your Graph paper by Monday.

Science 9 Year Long:  Make sure Lab 3C is finished for Thursday.  Also, do pg 281 # 1-7,9,10 due for next class.  Quality, concise, sentences and clear diagrams.

Science 9 Period 56:  Make a sketch of my classroom and surrounding hallways and show the location of :  the fire extinguisher, fire blanket, gas shut off, fume hood, shower, eyewash station, nearest fire pull and extinguisher outside of my room.
