 Chemistry 12:  I began by collecting the take-home quiz.  Today we finished Lab 20G Parts III and IV.  Questions for parts I to IV, all of the follow-up Questions, and a fine conclusion will be due on Friday May 6th.

Science 9:  Today we did Part C of the Heat Lab, and we graphed the temperature data on a single set of axes.  The graph, as well as  the rest of the lab, are due on Monday.

Chemistry 12:  We began with notes on pH and pOH.  We read section 4.11 and completed U4 # 47/48 (optional) and 49-57.   

Science 9:  We began with a review of the changes of state, then we read "The Distribution of Water".  Draw your own Hydrological Cycle Diagram and include captions that explains how it works.  These terms should be on your Cycle:  Evaporation, Condensation, Melting, Solidification, Sublimation, Transpiration, Aquafer.   On our Hydrologic Cycle we listed all the swimming Lakes within a 2 hour drive of RSS.  We also listed all the rivers and streams within a 1 hour bike ride of RSS.  In the final minutes we named all of the local mountain peaks.

Chemistry 12:  Today we took notes on Kw, read section 4.7, and completed 28-30.  Due Monday is Lab 20B as well as Unit 4 # 21-30 (except 27).

Science 9:  Today we spent our class reviewing for Monday's Unit Test and visiting the Earth Day Fair.  Spend some time reviewing the topics on Reproduction.


Thursday, April 21

Chemistry 12:  I collected Unit 4 # 1-14.  After a short discussion about Conjugate Acid-Base Pairs we completed Unit 4 # 15-19, which is due Friday.   We took notes on Strong and Weak Acids and started U4 # 21-24.  In the second half we did Lab 20B (all procedure, all Questions, and FUQ # 1-3, no conclusion), which will be due Monday.

 Science 9:  Complete Lab 2E from old science textbook (all Discussion Questions except #3.  Reproductive technology notes.  Complete pg 136 #1,4,5,9,14 for Friday.   There will be a Biology test on Monday.

 Chemistry 12:  We first looked at Blue and Red Litmus Paper, to see how they behave in 0.10 M HCl and 0.10 M NaOH.  We took notes on Bronsted-Lowry Acids and Bases, then read section 4.4, then completed Unit 4 # 11-14.  Due Thursday is Unit 4 # 1-14.  Please review your Q3 grade on myed, and let me know if I have missed anything.  This will be your grade for Term 3.

Science 9:  We started by reviewing the 3 trimesters, then we discussed Stem Cells, Twins, and Birth in humans.  We read pgs 119-120 and completed pg 121 # 2,4-9,12,17,18 (due Wednesday).

 Chemistry 12:  Today we spent time completing the Solubility Practice Test.  Click here to see the answer key.  We also spent time on Solubility Mini Review 2 and Lab 19C.  On Wednesday we will complete the Solubility Unit Test, and start the Acids & Bases unit.  

Science 9:  We took notes on the Human Female Reproductive System.  We read pgs 112 to 116 and completed pg 116 # 3-6, 9, 11-13, which is due on Thursday.


Monday, April 11th

 Chemistry 12:  Today we took notes on altering the solubility of a salt.  We read 3.10 and completed Unit 3 # 81-86.  Time we given for the Practice Test.  Wednesday, we will have a test on Solubility (Unit 3).

Science 9:  Notes: Human Male reproductive system.  Read pgs 108 to 110, then complete pg 111 # 1-3 and 5-7.

Chemistry 12:  Today you received your Spotted Lake Lab back, and we spoke about ensuring that you record all the measurements that you make (your data) when you are experimenting.  We did U3 # 56 & 60 together, then we completed U3 # 56-67, which is due Monday.  A WS called Solubility Mini Review 2 was given out, as well as the Solubility Practice Test.  Both the WS and Practice Test will be due Wednesday, the day of our Solubility Test.

Thursday, April 7th

Science 9:  Lab 3B, answer prediction, do analysis a,e,g.  Quiz on mitosis, meiosis, sexual, and asexual reproduction.  Practice problems pg 70 #1-4, 10, 12-14, 18 and pg 104 #1, 3, 5, 9-11, 16-18.  Questions are optional but may help guide your studying.


Wednesday, April 6th

Chemistry 12:  Today we did Lab 19C, and we learned about Hard Water (Read section 3.9).  Lab 19 C, with all Questions, Follow-up Questions, and a Conclusion, will be due Tuesday.


Tuesday, April 5th

Chemistry 12:  Today we began with a WS titled Mini Review of 3.1 to 3.4.  Today we took notes on Selective Precipitation.  We read section 3.5 and completed # 29-33, as well the WS titled Mini Review of 3.1 to 3.7.    

Science 9:  Reproductive technologies:  Read pg. 93-96


Monday, April 4th

Chemistry 12:  Today we finished up the Spotted Lake Lab by completing a Lab Hand Out, which is due Tuesday.  No Conclusion is needed.
