Science 8: Lab 13D - for a conclusion, write a paragraph explaining how the epicentre location is determined by triangulation. On Tuesday we will finish the questions for Lab 13D. We also learned about calculating speed from distance and time. Finals are about 3 weeks away - now is a good time to begin review:)

Science 8: I collected the 5 homemade questions (and separate answer key )about Earthquakes. Today we read about Continental Drift and cut and paste the continents into an approximate shape of Pangea. By matching up bands of fossil and geological evidence, we were attempting to model the movement of the continents over the past 200 million years. Despite what was seen in the short video we watched, this movement was not caused by Scrat trying to bury an acorn. We will get into the causes of continental drift next week. Please have Pangea glued down by Monday, otherwise, there is no homework to do over the weekend.

Science 8: Notes on Mirrors. We found the focal length of a concave mirror by creating a clear image of Crusty the Clown on a screen, and measured the "screen to mirror" distance. Some time was given for Lab 5-5, which is due tomorrow.
