Science 10: Today we did a lab with convex lenses and concave mirrors, so that we understand Astronomical Imaging deviced better when we read about them on Tuesday.  Finish Lab 8.4 and the Genetics and Reproduction Year End Review assignment - I will make answer keys available soon.

Chemistry 11:  WS 6 due Tuesday.  Lab 7B is not due Tuesday.

Chemistry 12:  Grades, after the Acids and Bases re-writes.  The better of the two exams will form part of your Term 4 Grade.

Science 10: For review we did the Synthesis Lab, and the associated WS is due for Monday.  I collected the Galaxy WS today.  Make sure that the Biology Year End Review assignment is done for Monday too - I will give you some answers then.  Your final exam

Chemistry 11:  Finish Organic WS # 4 (Alkenes and Alkynes) for Monday.  Organic Test next week.  Final exam on June 22.

Chemistry 12:  Today we worked on Lab 21C and the Acid Base unit re-test.  Expect an electrochem test next week and your final will be on June 18.

Chemistry 11:  Today we did Lab 7B (not due Friday) and Unit 10 # 17-20 (due Friday).

Science 10:  After a review of Mitosis and Meiosis, we did the Year End Review of Biology practice test.   In the 2nd half we learned about Galaxies, read 13.5, and did the Galaxies WS.

Science 10:  Year End Biology Review assignment, due Friday.  We spent some time reviewing Meiosis, and Mitosis together.  In the second half we read 13.5 about Galaxies and did the Galaxies WS.  Be sure to look outside for Andromeda tonight, if the skies are clear.

Chemistry 12:  We did Lab 21C, and you will be given more time on Friday.  Everyone was given an old final exam to try, and those rewriting the Acid Base Unit Test on Friday during class can use the Acid base sections (MC # 23-37 and WR # 6b - 10) for review practice problems.  See me when you need an answer key.  I did not get to look at your work from Tuesday (U5 # 24, 1 acidic, 1 basic, and 1 disproportionation reaction)

Tuesday, June 5

Science 10:  Today I collected the Magnetism Lab and pg 424.  We wrote notes on "The Death of Stars" and read section 13.4  We started pg 436 # 1,2,4-12,14,16,19 in sentences, but this is not due next class.  5 Stars that I want you to know about are the Sun, Polaris, Betelgeuse, Sirius, and Alpha Centauri.  Spend some time on Year End Review, preparing for your favorite final exam, whichever that is.

Chemistry 11:  Organic WS # 3:  Cyclic Alkanes (due Thursday).  Today we wrote a quiz on branched alkanes.

Chemistry 12:  U5 # 24 (in addition to last day's 4 acidic and 4 basic practice problems, do one additional acidic, one basic, and one disproportionation balancing problem from #24).  We took notes on Electrochemical Cells, and we read 5.8 after finishing a mini-review.

Monday, June 4, 2018

Science 10:  Today we did lab 4.3 to learn about the shapes of magnetic field lines.  We finished the Documentary called "Star".  We also marked pg 424.

Chemistry 12:  A rewrite of the Acid Base Test is an option that will happen for you on Friday during last period.   All of the practice on your grades print -out will need to be done in order to do the rewrite.  Due Tuesday is any 4 acidic and any 4 basic reactions from U5 #24.  We finished with a quiz on balancing half cells.

Chemistry 11:  Today I checked Organic WS #2.  We read pg 217 and did U10 # 3-9.  Draw each molecule so that you do not mark up your textbook.  View your Solutions Test results below.

Chemistry 12:  Today we learned how to balance half cells.  Now that the Acid Base unit is finished, be sure to catch up on all the Electrochemistry we have covered:  Unit 5 # 1-5, 7, 9-14, 19 (any 5 acidic and any 5 basic half reactions).

Chemistry 11: Today we wrote the Solutions Unit Test and spent time on Organic WS # 2, which is due on Monday.

Science 10:  After working on pg 424, we wrote notes on the Sun and we watched part of documentary called "Star", part of BBC Planets series.
