Earth Science 11:  Today we began Seismology.  After reading pg 193-196 (on your own paper, define the key terms), we did a lab on finding the epicentre of an earthquake.  We finished with a Nova documentary on the Himalayan earthquake of 2015.


Tuesday, November 7:

Science 10:  Today we handed in the Double Replacement Lab WS and did a quiz on balancing chemical equations.  We also took notes on Energy, and did a Worksheet (titled Section 18.1) that is due Thursday.

Science 8:  We began with a 3 minute self review of human eye anatomy, followed by a practice quiz. We then read pg 206-210, and filled in a placemat on correcting vision problems, which is due Thursday.  The crossword on the back is not due.   We also did pg 210 # 1-7, which is to be added to pg 205 # 1-5.  Quality point form writing is ok .

Earth Science 11:  Today we reviewed the pipeline names that take, or will take, Alberta petroleum to processing facilities and to market.  We went to the IT lab to research renewable and non-renewable energy sources.



Monday, November 6.

Science 10:  WS on double replacement reactions is due Tuesday.  Pg 248 # 1-3 was due today, but very few of you have it finished.  I will check it on Tuesday.  We also have not gone over pg 234 # 1,2,6-9.


Science 8:  pg 205 # 1-5 in fine sentences is due Tuesday.  Finish the Eye anatomy diagram, the crossword on the backside is not due Tuesday.

Earth Science 11:   Today we did the Rocks and Minerals Test.  We also watched the remainder of the Tar Sands video.
