Chemistry 12:  Today we reviewed moles-to-grams conversions, significant figures rules, and safety equipment and rules.  We reacted a penny in 15.4 M Nitric Acid, and determined the rate of reaction in grams of Cu per second.  With our partners we brainstormed ways to make the reaction slower (cool it, dilute the acid, fold up the Penny) as well as other amounts we could measure to determine the rate of reaction (decrease in total mass, volume of NO2 gas made, increase in Temperature, increase in blueness of the solution, increase in Pressure of a closed container).  Due next day is the Rates of Reaction WS.  Also due is a signed outline and 20 sheet of paper (due Monday).
