Chemistry 11: Today we wrote the Intro Unit Test, and we continued with the new topics in the Mole Unit. We learned that 1 mole of any gas at standard temperature and pressure (0C and roughly today's air pressure) occupies 22.4 L. Read pgs 82 to 84, then complete Unit 5 # 11,12, 16, 17.
Chemistry 12: Today we did Lab 19B and worked on CLC. The lab is not due Friday.
Tuesday, October 4th.
Chemistry 11: I collected Lb 2E today. After going through the answers to the practice test multiple choice, the practice tests were collected and I marked them and returned them. We took notes on Moles, and read pgs 78-82. Due Friday are Unit 5 # 6,7 (ay 8 total) and # 8,9 (any 12 total).
Science 8: We marked pg 208 from the Science Probe 9, then we looked at this animation that shows how Rutherford figured out that the atom's nucleus is very small and contains nearly all fo the mass of an atom. The famous Gold Foil Experiment. Here are the notes we wrote on atomic structure. We learned how to light bunsen burners as well as all of the safety issues around using these devices. No work is due for Thursday.
Chemistry 12: After a short review of Le Chatelier's principle, we spent our time on Career Life Connections.
