Chemistry 11: Today we reviewed Bohr Diagrams, and learned about electron configuration. We did Lab 11A Parts 1 and 2 procedure only, and these are both due Thursday. No usual write-up for this lab (no title, purpose, data, questions, or conclusion).
Chemistry 12: Today we did Lab 20H Part I, which involved calculating the pH at various points in a titration, and graphing them. The graphs are not due Thursday, but the calculations are. We also worked on Lab 20G, and had a homework quiz on pH and pOH calculations.

Chemistry 12: We took notes on Weak Acid and Weak Base Equilibria, then we read pg 129 - 132. Unit 4 # 35-40 is due Monday. No time was given for Lab 20G, so time will be given on Monday.
Chemistry 11: After a short review we worked on the Reactions Unit Practice Test. I checked the Titration WS, and the green stoichiometry WS. We will have a test on Monday on the Reactions Unit.

Chemistry 11: Today we started with the Titration Calculations WS, then we finished Lab 20C, then we started the Reactions Unit Practice Test. The Reactions Unit Test will happen on Monday. Both the Titration WS and Lab 20C are due Friday.
Chemistry 12: Today we worked on Lab 20G, and for homework we did the WS titled "Review of 25-30 Plus". I will check # 28-34 from Unit 4 on Friday, as well as the WS. Nice work on all your titrations today.

Chemistry 12: After a short review, we took notes on the Equilibria that happen in Aquaeous Solutions of Acids and Bases. We read Sections 4.7 and 4.8 and did Unit 4 # 28-34. These are due next class. In the last 10 minutes we went over the key points while titrating that maximize accuracy.
Chemistry 11: All the Questions are due on Wednesday. Your Reactions Test will be on Monday.

Chemistry 12: We started off with a short review of Sections 4.1 to 4.3, and I checked that U4# 1-19 are done. We took notes on Strong vs Weak acids, after which we read 4.6 and did Unit 6 # 21-24, 26,27. These problems are due Tuesday. Lab 20G was prepared, and we finished Part I and some of Part II. We will continue with Lab 20G on Tuesday.
Chemistry 11: Today we did lab 20C Part I (Questions 1-3) and we worked on the legal green Stoichiometry WS. Both are due on Tuesday. Our Reactions Unit Test will happen on Friday next week. Nice work on your very first titration! We will do Lab 20C Part II on Tuesday.
Answers to Legal Sized Green Stoichiometry WS:
1: 134.8 g Na2O
2. 2.40 L H2
3. 265 g of ore
4. 0.362 M NaOH
5. 78% yield
6. 50.2 % yield
7. Stoichiometry

Chemistry 11: We started off with a 15 minute discussion focused on writing good Conclusions, definitely a challenging skill that requires practice. Lab 6B (all Questions and Calculations, Follow-up Questions, and a Conclusion) are due Wednesday. We also spent time on the green legal sized Stoichiometry Calculations WS. The last 15 minutes was spent watching a Titration, a procedure used to find an unknown concentration.
Chemistry 12: After a short review of key terms (proton, hydronium, muriatic acid, lye, battery acid, stomach acid) we took notes on Bronsted-Lowrey Acids and Bases. We read Unit 4.1 to 4.4, and did # 1-14. Towards the end we learned about Conjugate Acid-Base Pairs, and completed 15-19. Your Solubility Unit Test marks are available on myed- well done!
