Chemistry 11:  Today I collected the Lewis Dot Structures home-made WS.  We did Lab 12B (procedure 1,2,4 only) and sketch the 3D images of the models we made.  We also recorded the electronegativity on our sketches.   Read pg 176 - 197 in Hebdon for next class.

Science 9:  After a review we watched this clip about composting.  We completed pg 91 # 1-14 from the old Science Probe 10, which is due on Wednesday.  In the last 20 minutes we used iPads to research Terra Firma Farms as well as the Canada Food Guide.    

 Chemistry 11:  We took notes on Electron Configuration, then we read pgs 151 to 157.  Due Monday is Unit 8 # 26-29 (odd letters)   Lab 11A part III is not due for Monday, but the two graphs from Part II should now be done.

Science 9:  Today we worked with Staci Klein to finish the 2nd Module of the Farm To Table program.  Nothing is due for Friday.

Thurday, November 25th

 Chemistry 11:  Today we completed Lab 11 A Part I and II. If you are at home, you can complete Lab 11A Part II by following the instructions in the Procedure.  Part III in Lab 11A is not due.  In the second half we took notes on Atomic Structure, read pgs 139-147, and completed Unit 8 # 13-19 in quality point form.  

Science 9:  After a short review we learned about the Carbon Cycle.  We read section 4.2 from the old Science Probe 10, and did pg 91 # 1-14 in fine sentences.  Do up to #10 for Friday.  In the second half we did the first Module of the "Farm to Table" program presented by Staci. 

 Chemistry 11:  Today we completed Lab 11 A Part I and II.  Chemistry 11:  Today we did the Reactions Unit Test and we started Lab 11A.  For Lab 11A there is no usual lab report:  Simply follow the instructions in Part II of Lab 11A in order to create the two graphs on graph paper.  

Science 9:  After a short warm up we added the 4 main biomolecules to our Trophic Levels notes from Monday.  We watched this clip about Biomolecules.  After the clip we looked up 5 different food items and recorded the following in a 6 column table [Food Item, Serving size, Energy content, % by mass of Carbohydrates, % by mass of Lipids. % by mass of Proteins]. The Table is due Thursday.

Science 9:  Today we took notes about Trophic Levels and the movement of energy and atoms through the biosphere.  We read section 2.4 from the old Science Probe 10.  We finished off with a Paul Nicklen TED Talk about Polar food chains.

Chemistry 11:  Today did the Titrations WS in preparation for tomorrow's Reactions Unit Test.   Due Tuesday is the Reactions Practice Test and Lab 20C.

 Friday, November 19th

Science 9.  Today we worked from the Science Probe 10 text and learned a little about the Biosphere.  

 Chemistry 11:  Today we did Lab 20C and we spent 30 minutes on the Reactions Practice Test.  The Practice Test and the Lab 20C Questions and Follow-up Questions need to be done for Friday. You will get time for a Conclusion on Friday.  Reactions Test on Monday.
