Science 8: We went over the anatomy of the Human Eye first, and spoke about doing a quiz on human eye anatomy on Wednesday. A convex lense was used to cast a real image of Crusty the Clown on a screen - this is similar to how your human lense casts images onto your retina. After completing Lab 5-8, we read pages 190 to 193 and started pg 197 # 1-10 (this is not due next class - we'll spent some time on this next day).
Science 9: After a short review of Biomes and Nitrogen Cycle, spent time finishing the Climate Graph of Revelstoke and finishing the Biomes Placemat (for each of 8 biomes, list key plant species, yearly rainfall, 2 interesting facts). We looked at the Phosphorus Cycle together in our data booklet and read page 332 - 333. The final minutes were spent watching a portion of "The Story of Stuff", a documentary on sustainability.
