Science 10:  We completed a short review on our pages 313 # 1-9 before handing it in. Time was given to finish Lab 5.2, the Force of Gravity Lab, and this was handed in too.  We learned how to draw free body diagrams, then completed a WS to help us practice these skills.  In the second half we completed Activity 14.2, the Star Map Activity.

Next week some of you will be away for a Band Trip. This is our approximate plan:

Tuesday April 22:  Read about Galaxies (page 326 - 331) and complete the Galaxy WS.  Finish Lab 14B (Star Map Activity).  Try the Scientific Notation Practice WS.

Wednesday April 23:  Review the Electromagnetic Spectrum.  Read page 322 to 325,  then view  this video on the James Webb Telescope.  Create a spreadsheet on Microsoft Excel with data about 6 different important telescopes.  The column headings you will need are :  Telescope Name, Type of EMR, Location, Year Built, Who built it, diameter.  Save the spreadsheet to your OneDrive in your Science 10 Folder.

Friday, April 25:  Intro to Stars.  Read pages 338 - 341.  Write brief notes on the 5 properties of stars that astronomers use (brightness, color, temperature, composition, mass).  Use the placemat titled "Stars" if you received one, otherwise use your paper.
