Science 8:  We reviewed the anatomy of the respiratory system, and added pharynx and larynx.  We learned how a virus particle (like respiratory flu virus) attacks a host cell (bronchi cells), and we spoke about why virus' are not considered living.  We watched this clip about flu infection.  We read pg 100 - 105, and wrote brief notes about the 4 ways to transfer a pathogen, the first line of defense, and the second line of defense (innate immune response) using a "flippit" format.  These sections of brief notes are due next class.

Career Life Connection.  We discussed the CLC course, and reviewed a few assignments and due dates.  We reviewed Work BC's Labour Market outlook for the 2020's.  Time was spent learning about the 4th industrial revolution, which we are currently in.  A little time was spent on UNICEF's Sustainable development goals, and how many of them require trained people.
