Chemistry 12: We wrote brief notes on Keq calculations, then read section 2.6. Unit 2 # 31-49 can now be completed. Lab 19B is due Tuesday. Unit 2 test on March 10th. Click here to see the Ch12 assignment log.
Science 10: We began by calculating how much energy is needed for a hot shower. Although everyone does this differently, we agreed on some average values: 11 L/min shower head, 10 minute shower, 2C water enters our house, and shower water is 40C. We then calculated the yearly cost of two showers per day. Yikes! Everyone handed in page 107 # 1-7 as well as the Walnut Lab. We then wrote brief notes on energy transformations and transfers, and read pages 206 to 208. We completed the Energy Transformations WS (titled Review 18.1), which is due next class. Science 8: WE handed in the Wavelength WS, then read pages 154 -160. We drew figure 4-20 on a blank sheet of paper, labelled the regions of the EMR spectrum, and wrote brief notes on each. 1 simple sketch was required for each region, showing an application of that type of EMR. This video explains the EMR Spectrum quite clearly. The EMR placemat is due Monday. Page 151 # 2-10 is due Monday too, but not page 163 # 1-3 and 10-12. Click here to see the Sci8 assignment log.
