Chemistry 12: Today we learned how to draw Potential Energy graphs for reaction Mechanisms after starting with the Mechanisms Mini Practice WS.  We read sections 1.10 to 1.12 and completed Unit 1 # 54 - 61.  We also watched "Deconstructed: Catalytic Converter".  Lab 18C is due Thursday.   Click here to see the Lab Marking Guide.  Click here to see the Ch12 assignment log.

Science 10: We started with Balancing Minipractice B, and self checked our work.  This animation shows how atoms and molecules just change their partnerships during a chemical reaction, and that no atoms are made or destroyed.  This means that the total mass in any chemical reaction must remain constant.  We read pages 125 - 130 in our textbook, then completed page 135 # 1,4,5,7,8.  A little time was given to finish Lab 8.1   Click here to see the Sci10 assignment log.

Science 8:  We marked a portion of page 192  # 1, 3-7, and 9, then it was handed in.  We watched the Periodic Table of Videos: Mercury clip.  Time and temperature data for the heating of a mystery yellow solid was provided, and everyone drew a graph of Temperature vs Time to determine the mp and bp.  The graph is due Thursday.  Remaining time was spent on the Measurement WS . Monday, February 10th

Chemistry 12:  We completed the WS titled "Short Review of 1.1 to 1.8", and used the key check it.  We read section 1.9 to learn about reaction mechanisms, and watche the first 3 minutes of Reaction Mechanisms on the Khan Academy.  Unit 1 # 46 - 52 was completed, and the rest of the time was spent on lab 18C.  Click here to see the Ch12 assignment log.

Science 8:  Everyone received their periodic tables today, and we completed a placemat to help begin exploring the getting to know the table.  From a handout of page 192 we completed # 1, 3-7, and 9. Click here to see the Sci8 assignment log.

Science 10:   We started with Balancing Minipractice A, and self checked our work.  We completed Lab 8.1 today.  Click here to see the Sci10 assignment log.
