Science 9: We handed in the Electricity Practice Test after a short Q & A session. We reviewed cell anatomy, then wrote brief notes on Cells Dividing. After reading pages 3-9 in the Connections 9, we did page 38 # 1-7, 9-14 in the Probe 9. This is not due on Friday. After handing back the practice tests, we marked the multiple choice portion. Click here to see the answer key. Using laptops, we started research for Activity 1-B (page 16 & 17 in the Connections text), a research task about BC agriculture. No due date has been set for this yet. On Friday we will do a test on the Electricity Unit, then spend the remainder on Activity 1-B (page 16 &17 in the Connections text).
Science 8: Today's first task was the Geology Practice Test, which was collected, marked, and handed back today. Click here to see the answer key. Next, we completed the procedure for Lab 17A: Clocking Tectonic Plates, a measuring/calculating task that allows us to determine how fast the Pacific Plate has moved in last few Ma. We looked at the Volcano Spreadsheet assignment, but did not get to start it - we'll begin Friday after the Geology Test has been written. Thanks Ms. Hoshizaki for inviting us to the Health and Wellness Fair.
