Science 10: We went over the Balancing Quiz first, watched a short video clip on your favourite element, then added to our "Energy Transformations in Chemical Reactions" notes.  We finished reading pg 138-145 in our new texts and did pg 147 # 1-7 in sentences.  In the last few minutes you were handed a sheet with your progress so far.  You were also given a binder checklist do for yourself - towards the end of Term 3 you will take one home for your adult to do.

After a short review of Post Secondary Pathways, we created a job application cover letter using a formal Block Letter Style to one of these businesses:

Lortap (wood manufacturing (doors, windows, cabinets, custom furniture)
BC Hydro Visitor's Centre (give Dam tours, help visitors)
Loki Tree Service (Removing/trimming trees)
RMR Pipecoaster
Denny's (serving, busing, dishwashing, kitchen prep)
Mackenzie Dental (sterilizing person, clean-up, phone duties).

Paragraph 1:  Information about what you are seeking and why
Paragraph 2:  Information about your qualities that make you suitable
Paragraph 3:  Closing:  "Thank you for taking the time consider my application and feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss my application further."

i) Print a paper copy and have a partner proof read your letter.  Make adjustments.
j) Save to PDF, and add this PDF to your Grade 10 Porfolio.
k) Finish the tasks from yesterday and last Wednesday.
