Chemistry 11:  After a review of Endo and Exothermic reactions we read section 6.6 and did Unit 6 # 70 - 80.  There was time for a short discussion about batteries, fuel cells, electric vehicles and home photovoltaic arrays and we watched this clip on Batteries.  The differences between Millwrights, Mechanical Engineers, and Chemical Engineers was discussed as well.  We began Lab 6C, and finished the procedure for Part I.  The day was finished off with the Reactions Practice Test, since we have a Reactions Unit Test on Thursday.  There will be no questions about Titrations on Thursday's test.

Life Sciences 11:  After a short discussion about plant phyla (Algae, Moss, Ferns, Cone Producers, Flower producers), we looked at two new local Conifers, yew and spruce.  Pages 245 to 250 was read, and Problems # 8-15 on pg 250 was completed in fine sentences.  Create your own Figure 10 from page 259, and be ready to explain it to Mr. Gale.  No need to memorize it yet, you can look at it while you explain it to him.  We watched this video on making cheese, which relies on a bacterial culture.
