Life Sciences 11:  After a short review, we worked on page 232 # 17-23, 25 in fine sentences.  Include these with your Protists Lab.  We took notes on Fungi, and watch this Nature of Things documentary on the evolution of Fungi.  The Microscopy Review WS helped review microscope calculations and other skills.   We will have a test on Microbi on Monday.

Chemistry 11:  Due Thursday is Unit 7 # 1-4 and 6. We started Lab 6B today, but it is not due.

Life Sciences 11:  We viewed pond water (from Williamson's Lake) and several prepared slides (Paramecium, Amoeba, Plasmodium, Diatoms) to explore some of the types of Protists found in local water and elsewhere.  In the second half, we had a short discussion about Fungi, the last of 3 kingdoms that make up our Microbiology Unit.  Various samples of carbohydrate rich foods were innoculated with fungal spores in order to grow some fungi.  The spores were found in dusty places around our classroom and nearby hallways.   Today I collected the Antibiotics Homemade Assignment from Monday. Nothing is due for Wednesday.

Chemistry 11:    From Monday I collected Lab 4D, Lab 4B, and the WS titled "Writing Reaction Equations".  We took notes on the Law of Conservation of Matter, and did Balancing II WS.  More notes were taken on the Categories of Chemical Reactions, and a WS titled "Predicting Reaction Products" was given out.  Both of these are due on Wednesday.  Time was given to prepare Lab 6B.
