Life Sciences 11:  Time was given to finish the Moss Lab, which is due Friday.

In the second half we went to the IT Lab to create a Fern Life Cycle Crossword using Microsoft Excel.  Follow these instructions:

a) Using the desktop app, open a new Microsoft Excel workbook and save it to your OneDrive with a useful file name.  An example might be Fern Life Cycle Crossword Freddy Mercury 2020 12 17

b) Read about the life cycle of a Fern, and note the key terms.

c) Start with the answer key, laying out your terms like this.  Try to get 8 to 12 terms in total, or more if its fun.

d) Use the border button to outline your crossword, like this.

e) Create your numbering system, using Super-scripted numbers in the appropriate cells.

f) Insert a Text box, and create clues for your Across words.  Give the Text box a title.  Clues can be phrases, fill in the blanks, images, etc.

g) Repeat for the Down words.  An example of a completed key can be seen here.

h) Name the sheet you are working on as the "Answer Key"  Copy the entire sheet and paste it to a new sheet named "Puzzle".  Remove the letters from the Puzzle sheet, leaving blank squares.  Format the Puzzle so that it prints nicely on a single sheet of paper.  Add a title.  Add some cool Fern Graphics.  Show Mr. Gale.  Save it to your OneDrive.  Print the Puzzle on a single sheet of paper and hand it in.

The Fern Crossword Puzzle is not due Friday.

Chemistry 11:  We did our Reactions Unit Test today.  In the second half we learned about electron configuration and Unit 8 # 26 and 27 was assigned.  Lab 20C was prepared and a demo of a titration was shown.  Lab 6C is due Friday too.
