Science 8:  We started by reviewing the heating curve for Sulfur from Tuesday, then we did a short scavenger hunt through the Periodic Table of the Elements.  We looked at pure Sodium (watch this clip about Na) and watched this clip about Gold.  Just before break we made a kit of solutions for Lab 7-4, which we will do on Tuesday.  In the second half we finished pg 259 # 1-10, which is due Tuesday.  In the last part we learned about Convection after reviewing the KMT (try this animation to review KMT).

Chemistry 11:  Today we reviewed how to calculate density and tried a problem like this for review.  We spent time finishing Lab 3A (Questions and calculations # 1,4 as well as Follow-up questions 2,3, no conclusion) which is due Thursday.  

Science 8:  We reviewed density calculations and tried a problem like this.  I provided heating curve data for a mystery substance and we made a line graph of Temperature vs. Time.  This allowed us to determine if the mystery substance was wax, iron, or sulfur.  We finished off with pg 259 # 1-5, which is due on Wednesday.
